Who we are

Lesotho Inter-Religious AIDS Consortium (LIRAC) is a Faith Based Organization (FBO); an umbrella body of all faith based Organizations which respond to HIV& AIDS in the Country. It was established by ad-hoc groups of people of faith in 2006 through Technical support from Action AID Lesotho under their Program called ‘Support to International Partnership against AIDS in Africa (SIPA) and legally registered in 2006.  Catholic Relief Service Lesotho (CRS) also played a major role on Technical and resource Support.

LIRAC membership is drawn from churches and religious groups of Christian Organizations and Baha’i Faith and Muslims.  LIRAC currently has membership of around 26 religious groups that are involved in various programs in the fight against HIV and AIDS around the country contributing towards National response to HIV&AIDS.

Our Mission

LIRAC’s Mission is to encourage, initiate and support collaborative action by Faith-Based Organizations to contribute to and influence the national response to HIV and AIDS in Lesotho. The Consortium envisages an effective and coordinated Faith Based response to HIV and AIDS in Lesotho that contributes to sustainable development.
